Olmo is one of Europe's largest frame builders using Easton tubing and so it is natural they would use Scandium tubing for the top range racing frames. Scandium is an element known for its extreme lightness, strength and hardness. It was originally used in aerospace and missile technology. In bicycle fabrication Scandium is a perfect material because the builder can use thinner wall thickness without sacrifice in strength and the structure is not deformed by welding. Scandium frames have a much smoother feel than typical aluminum frames resulting in less fatigue in longer races. The combination of the GX2 carbon rear gives the Stardust + great rigidity, ultralight and superb feel. This frame is the choice of the Tenax professional team in Italy.
